A HOWDY! Sewing Adventure for Young Makers Ages 7-14
Turn creativity into reality with your own two hands!
Join us for a week-long adventure where young makers will learn the fundamentals of sewing while creating awesome, functional pieces they'll be proud to use. In this small-group experience - just 4 kids per class! - your child will discover the joy of making something from scratch with expert guidance every step of the way.
What they'll learn:
- Designing with patterns
- Selecting durable, sustainable materials
- Professional cutting techniques
- Setting up and safely operating a sewing machine
- Core sewing skills
- Finishing techniques that make all the difference
What they'll make: Each maker will complete TWO projects using HOWDY!'s signature durable, water-resistant fabrics:
- A customized wallet with personality
- A medium-sized tote designed to last
The Details:
- 5 days of making (2 hours daily, 10 hours total)
- Morning sessions: 10am-12pm
- Afternoon sessions: 12:30pm-2:30pm
- Available weeks: June 1-5, June 15-19, July 13-17 and 27-31
- All materials and equipment provided
- $200 per maker
No previous sewing experience needed! Just bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We never underestimate what kids can create when given the right tools and guidance.
Camp is held at the new HOWDY! HQ - 1115 Woodside Ave. - a dedicated sewing space, designed to create and teach quality textile craft.
